Welcome Parents/Guardians to the 2023-2024 High School Application Process.

At VNA, we understand the High School application process can be overwhelming so we have created a guide to make the process seamless. Please see the additional information below:  

How to apply to High School, step by step below:  

1. First, create an account by going to https://www.myschools.nyc/en/  

• On 9/28, your child will receive their Welcome Letter with creation code distributed by Ms. Rose 
• To attend open houses for High School, please view link below for calendar dates https://www.myschools.nyc/en/calendar/?  
• Application opens 10/3/2023 for High School & SHSAT  

Explore schools through the online directory 

1. Use the online directory. The online version has the most up-to-date info https://www.myschools.nyc/en/schools/ 
   Create list of 12 schools in order of your preference  
2. Apply to those 12 schools through MySchools 

Important SHSAT information: 

•  Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT), High School Application and LaGuardia Application will be open on October 3rd.  
• Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) registration will close on October 27th. Ms. Rose will provide a test ticket. 

• The SHSAT exam is given at our school on November 8th   
• If you  are  interested in applying to any of these schools, submit your registration, including your school preferences, by the November 27th  deadline. Registration for the SHSAT is not  first-come first-served; all students who register by the deadline can take the SHSAT.
