THE EARTH WITHOUT "ART" IS JUST "EH"
MULTICULTURAL ART CLUB
Who: 4th – 8th Grade Students
When: Friday afternoons 2:30 – 3:30 pm beginning January 18th
Where: VNA Art Room (502)
As part of our Equity & Excellence focus this year, each month we would like to celebrate a particular culture, as aligned with our Equity calendar, and complete a piece of Art based on that culture. Parents are welcome to come and share ideas, as well as materials.
Elementary Art
My overall goal in the upcoming school year is to motivate students to express themselves visually and creatively. I hope to highlight students’ individual strengths in order to allow them succeed and feel confident in their own artistic skills.
Elementary Art grades are based several components outlined in project specific rubrics. These components include:
Completeness…….. following directions and completing project objectives
Craftsmanship…….. neatness and care of tools and materials
Creativity……………using your imagination and individual style

Middle School Art
Throughout this year in middle school art, we will be creating projects in a variety of mediums and art techniques. Each project will be graded using the following:

Sketchbooks – Neatness, completion, includes all practice drawings and assessments throughout the year. |

Homework – All homework sheets completed by due date and kept in portfolio. One homework worksheet per project. |

Cooperation & Participation – 100% attentive, answering questions, raising hand, staying in seat, actively listening to the teacher and classmates. |

Final Projects – All final art projects are complete and included in the portfolio. |

I encourage parent and student communication, visits, and questions, and hope to interact with parents and family members to discuss our students’ art education. I look forward to the unique, beautiful, and truly captivating artwork in the upcoming school year. I cannot wait to see what our VNA artists have in store!
